Mabon - A Witches Thanksgiving

Mabon is one of my favourite sabbats. Perhaps I’m biased because my birthday falls right before Mabon. Being based in Australia, we can still enjoy this autumnal celebration even if we are in opposite seasons to the northern hemisphere.

As I write this, we are in somewhat of a heat wave and the Summer has been long. I now look forward to the cooler temperatures and watching nature change and begin its big sleep. Mabon is the time for the light to change and the leaves of trees to start to fall so that it may rest and rejuvenate and then bloom fresh for spring and summer again.
